The Hassan Family Finds a Home in Community

The Hassan Family · Lahore region, Pakistan

Story — The Hassan Family Finds a Home in Community
When we were set free, we didn’t know anyone. The church became our family — people who prayed with us, ate with us, and helped us learn how to live again.

The Hassan family had been trapped at a brick kiln for two generations. When Exodus51 secured their legal freedom, they faced a question that many freed families face: where do we go from here?

Freedom on paper is one thing. Building a life is another. Without community, many families risk falling back into the same cycles of debt and exploitation that trapped them in the first place.

A church that became family

When we were set free, we didn’t know anyone. The church became our family — people who prayed with us, ate with us, and helped us learn how to live again.

Through our Church program, the Hassan family was connected to a local congregation near their new home. Pastors and believers walked alongside them — not as a one-time handout, but as ongoing support, accountability, and care.

  • Weekly fellowship and discipleship
  • Practical help with housing and employment
  • A community that knows their names and their story

Today, the Hassan family is not just surviving. They are rooted — part of a church that sees them as full members of the body, not as a project or a statistic.

Since 2022, we’ve grown from helping 303 people to 24,807

$300 sets someone free and $25/month saves a life every year.
